What Do You Do To Recharge?

I read an article on www.success.com that talked about recharging your passion.  It talked about a man that was burnt out on his day to day entrepreneur life so he quit doing what he was doing, bought one-way tickets for his wife, himself and his 10-month-old daughter and they traveled around the world for 6 months.

Now, most of us could only dream of packing up one day and becoming world travelers.  But all of us can reward ourselves with some time off to recharge.  Recharge by definition is to regain your energy and strength.  What would happen if you never recharged your smartphone or your iPad?  Of course, it would stop working.  The battery would die.  The same thing can happen to us. There are a lot of things in our daily lives that cause us to be in high gear all day long, all week long, all month long etc.  Recharging may not mean a week-long vacation on the beach even though that sounds nice to most of us.  There are small things that you can do more often to stay recharged.

Keeping a daily journal is a great way to stay recharged.  You usually journal when it is quiet and you have time to look back and reflect on your day.  Studies have shown that there are many psychological benefits to journaling.

Exercise is another activity you can do to help recharge.  Exercise is a natural stress reliever.  You can exercise alone so that you can listen to your favorite music or watch your favorite show in the gym.  Or you can exercise with friends or family and catch up with them at the same time.

Reading.  This is one of my favorites.  Reading doesn’t have to mean sitting down with a 500 page novel that you have no idea how you are going to finish.  It can be the daily news, browsing through a favorite magazine, catching up on everyone’s Facebook statuses or sitting down with that novel you have really wanted to read.

There are so many more that I could list.  We would love to hear from you.  What do you do to recharge?
